Home birth is not less safe than hospital birth for low risk women when planned.

Labour is not disrupted when there is no move to hospital.

Intervention is less likely in the home environment.

Birth is a normal life event and when at home, can be shared with whomever the mother wishes.

Birth at home allows parents to interact with their new baby without interference.

Any situations outside of the usual parameters may be more easily supported in the home environment.
